The participation and contribution of people living with HIV is one of the best examples of global progress in public health. People living with HIV are a key driving force in the response to HIV&AIDS, giving a personal power to people living positively with the virus, and inspiring others to action.
FASBEC has engaged PLHIV as leaders in stopping HIV and show visionary leadership in implementing and supporting prevention, treatment and care in the supported district. PLHIV have exhibited their skills as activists, informed patients, care givers, educators, researchers, policy makers, and health care providers.
FASBEC has engaged them in planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of HIV interventions in the district. They are the gatekeepers of community health whereby, they conduct routine home visiting, identification of fellow PLHIV and link them for health facility services, follow up for improve lives and provide ongoing counseling and support.
