The Uganda AIDS Indicator Survey (2011) indicated that HIV prevalence at a national average of 7.3%. This called for the country’s focused intervention to reduce the epidemic. This led to concentrated efforts for all stakeholders to use the kitchen-sink approach in order to focus resources to where the burden is.

From this call, FASBEC supports an integrated HIV combination prevention approach to provide comprehensive HIV prevention services with HCT as the entry point to care focusing on biomedical, behavioral and structural prevention strategies targeting vulnerable, key populations and priority populations. Key focus areas include; Elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (eMTCT), Early Infant Diagnosis, couple HCT, Safe Male Circumcision (SMC), condom promotion, screening and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and general sexual reproductive health services for adults and young boys and girls.
